Take the #GoWiththeFlow Challenge

**This article was originally posted on LinkedIn – October 1, 2021**

It’s official – we have all heard the grand announcement from the Salesforce mothership that Process Builder and Workflow Rules are on their way out. #Flow is the automation of the future! 🌟🌟

For many across the SF Admin community, you might be thinking….”OH NUGGETS…FLOW IS HARD!! There are so many buttons! I don’t even know what a variable is? Where do I put this darn connector? How and where do I even start??”

And this is where I say to you, have no fear, the #GoWithTheFlow Challenge is here.

What is the #GoWithTheFlow Challenge?

Originally, this all began when two, newly minted Salesforce Admins and Talent Stacker members, myself and @TraceyBraun, decided that we wanted to work together to tackle flows and keep each other accountable to learning. {{See: Salesforce is always more fun with friends!}} Then we invited who ever wanted to join us on LinkedIn to post about their experiences in learning flow with us. And boom. The wave of flow fun began. After a week of jam packed flows, we all got through it together and learned so much in the process. But what we found, was that more and more people wanted to join in and were sad on having missed the first #GoWithTheFlow wave! To which the epic @RobynJungers proposed, why don’t we write this all down so others can take the #GoWithTheFlow Challenge too! And we can all be #AwesomeAdmins together?? So here we are.

How do I take the #GoWithTheFlow Challenge?

First off, the #GoWithTheFlow Challenge is for everyone! So for those of you out there with the feeling that you might not be good at flows or formulas or whatever – set that aside. Welcome. We are here to learn.

I wanted to make this as easy and accessible as possible. This is just a template to help you get started. All you have to do is follow the 4 simple steps below and wallah! > You are on your way to becoming a #FlowFanatic!

Challenge Steps:

Step 1️⃣: Find an #AccountabilityBuddy or an #AccountabilityGroup

This first part might be the most critical. Find a friend or two or 50 that are also interested in learning flows. Commit to each other to check in and be a sounding board if any questions should arise.

Step 2️⃣: Make a Plan

I am a checklist fiend! If there is a box, I want to check it. As we all know, Salesforce is huge. So many resources. So many things to learn. So making a plan will help you in actually taking that first step. We have added some resources below if you are looking for where to start. I also recommend giving yourself a dedicated time to take the #GoWithTheFlow Challenge. Maybe it’s 2 hours everyday for a week or a month. Decide what is feasible to complete your plan with your #AccountabilityBuddies and then write it all down so you don’t forget.

Step 3️⃣: Do the Thing

“Confidence and clarity come from doing the thing.” {Jillian Johnsrud} You have your buddies. You have your plan. Now you must actually make it happen. Even if it’s one thing a day, that is still forward progress. You can do it!!!

Step 4️⃣: Tell us about it!

Share with us or your #AccountabilityBuddy every day. Example>>>>

Make a post on LinkedIn (Add the Hashtag #GoWithTheFlow) and tell everyone where you are at – What are your wins? Where are you having trouble? What are you looking forward to next? Feel the love and support of the #Ohana as we all cheer you on or help you out!

It’s as simple as that! With these four easy steps you will be on your way to learning Flows in no time! We can’t wait to hear about it!!

And for those of you who have already completed the #GoWithTheFlow Challenge >> Tune in with @TraceyBraun as we keep the learning and community going with #FlowItFridays. From Tracey >> “#FlowItFriday isn’t about completing a specific Flow-based task, but a chance to brag, ask questions of each other, or commiserate about the Flow that just doesn’t want to work. I’ll try to share at least one Flow-based resource each week and encourage you to work on Flow a little bit each day so you can share what you’re learning too.” Connect with her to learn more.

#FlowOn my friends.
