AppExchange Basics – Sans the Basic?

Hey everyone!

I just completed the AppExchange Basics and I went down a 20 minute rabbit hole of trying to troubleshoot how to connect my new playground to appexchange so I wanted to share my experience and hopefully help someone else out.

 

I had created a new playground but it wasn’t showing in my connected accounts.  I would click “connect” it would take me to the page to login.  When I would try to reset my password it would send an email to my personal email to reset then ask me the city where I was born.  …then repeatedly tell me the answer was wrong and that I would need to contact my administrator.

 

So here’s what worked!

 

I opened my playground.

Clicked the wheel/setup menu in the top right.  Click setup.

From here, in the quick find I would go to User -> Users.

I found my username to verify.

Clicked edit to ensure my personal email was set up (it was, I knew that from trying to reset the password).

Got out of the edit view and clicked reset password for my credentials (I’m guessing this is the administrator view it was prompting me to earlier but I still don’t know how to reset the city I was born in?)

Then reset the password.

 

And that worked!  But it took watching youtube videos and doing the wrong thing multiple times before I figured it out.

 

Now my org is connected and available to download new apps to.
