Introverts for Salesforce: Part Two – Anti-Social Media

Why isn’t there anti-social media for introverts like us?  A question posed to me by the hilarious Yvette Hill, in response to my last article.

We Dread Social Media.  I’m not talking about watching videos of beautiful people washing dishes and saying profound things or beautiful 18-year-olds slathering on anti-wrinkle cream (wow, a miracle!).  Or Liking your sister’s reposting of the chinchilla and donkey’s adorable interspecies friendship.

I’m talking primarily LinkedIn.

Yes, Talent Stacker is correct that it’s the place to be if you want a Salesforce job.

However, at first it seems like a meat market.  Or a catwalk.  Strut, Pout (Sheena Easton, anyone, anyone?).

Sell my wares?  I’d rather sit through a timeshare pitch.

It’s not that introverts are lazy.  We’ll build elaborate Orgs, climb Denali, spend 72 sleepless hours trying to make that Flow work.

Just don’t make us sell ourselves.

Mind Reset.  How, darlings, are recruiters and hiring managers supposed to even know we exist?  And how can we stand out?

Because of our discomfort, I think a lot of us post our latest badges and certs and all that’s great.  But my belief is that everything you Post, Like, Comment On, Follow, and even through to how you interview should come from your core.  Not your wicked six-pack, TikTok.

So, that’s the big reveal?  Be Yourself?

“Why Sir, do you have a cliché fetish?”

Easy to slag, harder to do.
